Location

Portree is the capital of Skye and an excellent base from which to tour this Misty Isle. Greenacres is situated on the periphery of the village, on the right hand side of the A87 southern approach road from Broadford, immediately after the 30mph restriction signs. It is a modern, apricot coloured, detached dormer house.

Greenacres is a fifteen minute walk from the centre of Portree where a variety of amenities including a swimming pool, library, gift shops, supermarket, bakery, bars and restaurants can be found. Aros Heritage Centre with restaurant, gift-shop, cinema, forest walk and auditorium is less than five minutes walk away.

Skye is world famous for its scenery, especially the Cuillin Hills which are a haven for climbers and hillwalkers. Water sports such as sailing, fishing, diving and watersking are also available on the island and two horse riding centres are situated near Portree. There are two golf courses fifteen minutes drive from Portree.

Facilities

Greenacres Guest House's accommodation comprises of eight letting bedrooms, four ground floor and four first floor. Six of the rooms have en-suite facilities and all are comfortable and attractively furnished with colour tv and tea/coffeemaking facilities. Hair driers are also available.

Breakfast is served in our pleasant dining room and a full Scottish or continental meal is provided. Vegetarians can also be catered for.

Our lounge and conservatory are attractively furnished and command oustanding views over Portree bay to the Old man of Storr and Raasay.

We have a large garden and patio area where guests can relax and enjoy the scenery.

Children over 10 are welcome.
